To all those who think the common man is unrepresented in the Middle East

The corageous country of Lebanon has just forced their Pro-Syrian government out after the assassination of a popular politican. I am so happy for the Lebanese people. Hopefully this is step #2 on the way to democracy in the Middle East. This is a big step and on top of this Egypt is now allowing free elections for the first time in god who knows how long. The number of tyrannical governments is decreasing at a rapid rate. Maybe N. Korea, Syria, and Iran will follow suit.

conservative groups speak out as Oscars...

Now, I'm not one to really give too much of a crap for hollywood (I am well aware I didn't capitalize it) but when something funny happens I'll acknowledge it. See, apparently all over town there are billboards that were bought by conservative groups saying "Thanks for giving Bush another 4 years hollywood" and then it has a picture of Michael Moore, Oprah, Striseand, etc. It's hard to disagree with that. Farhenheit 9/11 backfired in the long run and I think motivated the conservative base more than the liberal base. Also, has anyone noticed how Michael Moore has flat out disappeared? Maybe he's gone on a diet and shaved, maybe hell has frozen over too, frankly I don't know... or care.

Putin out of touch with America...

In a recent Newsmax article Vladimir Putin, Russia's "president" thought that Bush and his administration were going to fire Dan Rather for his horrible mishandling of "Memogate". All I can say is wow. I mean Putin seems to forget that all REAL democracies actually allow dissention and freedom of the press. Even though it can be painful at times.

Dean urged to apologize...

Last week when Howard Dean was addressing the Congressional Black Caucus, where he joked that minorities tend to be employed as bellboys and hotel maids. Wow what a smart man everyone! I still can't believe that the Dems nominated him to lead their party, he's well on his way to going down in a ball of flames. Here was his quote "You think the Republican National Committee could get this many people of color in a single room? Only if they had the hotel staff in here." hahaha, real funny Dean. I bet that got a lot of laughs. Tell me again which party is racist? And this doesn't even bring up how he said "I hate Republicans and everything they stand for." A couple of weeks ago before he was elected DNC chairman

Hillary: Let Ex-felons Vote
Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, a possible White House candidate in 2008, joined 2004 nominee John Kerry and other Democrats Thursday in urging that Election Day be made a federal holiday to encourage voting. She also pushed for legislation that would allow all ex-felons to vote. Standing with Massachusetts Sen. Kerry and other Democrats who had alleged voting irregularities in the 2004 contest, Clinton said, "Once again we had a federal election that demonstrates we have a long way to go."
"I think it's also necessary to make sure our elections meet the highest national standards," said the New York senator.
She and Kerry, both considered contenders for the 2008 nomination, were joined by Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones, D-Ohio, and Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., who forced a highly unusual House and Senate debate Jan. 6 on the presidential election results.
Kerry, who lost the national contest by 3.3 million votes nationwide and 118,000 within Ohio, denied the bill was an attempt to discredit the 2004 results.
"This has nothing to do with me," said Kerry. "It is not partisan, or shouldn't be."
Clinton echoed those comments, though her senatorial re-election committee, Friends of Hillary, is pushing the bill hard.
Visitors to the group's Web site are greeted first with a full-page form asking people to endorse the Count Every Vote Act.
"My Web site has information about everything I work on. This is one of my biggest priorities and obviously I hope that people who share our goal of making sure every vote counts will support us," said Clinton.
In addition to creating a federal holiday for voting, the bill would:
Require paper receipts for votes.
Authorize $500 million to help states make the changes in voting systems and equipment.
Allow ex-felons to vote. Currently an estimated 4.7 million Americans are barred from voting because of their criminal records.
Require adoption of the changes in time for the 2006 election.
Boxer said the bill "is meant to ensure the election debacle of 2000, and the serious election irregularities of 2004, never ever happen again."
Both parties have called for changes to ensure a more accurate vote count. Republican efforts have centered on reducing voter fraud, while Democrats have called for making access to the ballot box easier and simpler.

As an example, an 18 year old muslim boy in HAMAS could strap a bomb to his chest, walk into an Israeli bus stop, kill 5 innocent women and children, and his family will receive 25 thousand dollars for it. -He gassed the kurds in his own country, killing 5, 000 in less than 3 minutes.-300, 000 corpses have been discovered from mass graves, and 700, 000 more expected to be found (estimates are he was killing over 30, 000 innocent people a month)-He invaded Kuwait, killing thousands in the name of his own financial interests-He murdered any political dissidents in country brutally, guilty or imagined-One of his sons would go to the local high schools, pick out the prettiest girl he could find in the bunch, take her back to his palace and rape her until he was bored. Al-Ani is one of Iraqi’s most highly decorated intelligence officers, a special forces veteran, and a senior leader of Iraq’s “M-8” special operations branch. Other reports indicate that Al-Ani may have met with another hijacker, Khalid Almihdar. This was confirmed by the country's interior minister.-Recent Iraqi defectors provide additional details of Iraq’s support for international terrorism throughout the 1990s. The Public Broadcasting Service documentary program entitled “Frontline” interviewed former Iraqi intelligence and army officers with first-hand accounts of highly secret installations run by an international terrorist known to Iraqi staffers only as “the Ghost.” “The Ghost” is reported to be Abdel Hussein, the chief trainer at a training camp inside Iraq, which includes the fuselage of a Boeing 707 jetliner that is used to practice hijacking scenarios. U.N. inspectors independently confirmed the existence of this particular training camp inside Iraq. -Former CIA Director James Woolsey believes that Iraq, Bin Laden and Al Qaeda conspired in the attacks on 9/11.-The Arabic language daily newspaper Al-Quds al-Arabi first raised the issue of cooperation between Iraq, Bin Laden and Al Qaeda in a late December 1998 editorial, which predicted that “President Saddam Hussein, whose country was subjected to a four day air strike (by Clinton in 1998), will look for support in taking revenge on the United States and Britain by cooperating with Saudi oppositionist Osama bin-Laden...“bin-Laden was planning moving to Iraq before the recent strike.” Also after the strikes Iraqi trade minister Muhammad Mahdi Salah reportedly stated that he expected terrorist activities against the United States to increase as a result of the bombing of Iraq. -Bin Laden reportedly visited Baghdad for consultations in March 1998. Giovanni De Stefano, an international lawyer visiting Baghdad on business, had a chance encounter with Bin Laden in the lobby of the Al-Rashid HotelThere is much more. People who try and act like the only justification for this war was oil, greed, power are kidding themselves. If the US only cares about oil interests, why didn't we take over Kuwait after going in there? There's countries we could invade, besides Iraq, that would've been EASIER to take over and would supply more of an oil profit for the bigwigs. We've lost 1,300 brave Americans and counting, not to mention the thousands of Iraqis who have paid the ultimate price. We are fighting a just cause, in a war that was needed to help secure an area of terror and tyranny. For those who disagree, it is a debateable issue we should all as Americans appreciate. But those in our country who wish for the demise of Americans, hope for an eventual defeat in Iraq, or personally attack our President or troops while we're at war should move to france.
