All right France and Holland. I'll love to see multi-nationalism fail and patriotism come back, especially here in America where patriotism has become a bad word and multi-nationalism is the big thing.

true paul, but at least nationalism isn't dead in Europe, yet...

Paul - yes. Many reasons. For starters, would you rather have citizens who love their nation, indifferent citizens, or ones that hate their nation? I'd much rather live in a country with national pride.

I happen to like our country. I like the fact that it's cleaner and has better opportunities and more choices than just about anywhere else. We're a free country for the most part. Freedom is simply being able to make your own choices instead of having others make them for you. This is something we have that too many other nations don't have. Do you not believe that we have more freedom and a better environment than most? Are those things nothing to be proud of?

Nationalism is basically a collective state of mind or consciousness in which people believe their primary duty and loyalty is to the nation-state. Often nationalism implies national superiority and glorifies various national virtues. Thus love of nation may be overemphasized; concern with national self-interest to the exclusion of the rights of other nations may lead to international conflict.

YOU GO FOR IT!
