couple CD's I've bought lately...

2 weeks ago I bought the new NIN cd With Teeth and this weekend my dad bought the new Audioslave cd Out of Exile. Now this may not seem like a big deal and didn't to me until I realized something shocking. They were both #1 on the Billboard top 100 list in cd's sold the previous and current week. That spot is usually reserved to some pop or rap shit cd that was released. Are the American people coming around to me and my dad's taste or was this just a fluke concidence? We usually don't but "popular" music. We buy good music, this just happened to be a rare case where popular and good crossed paths. Will this happen more in the future? I'd like to hear what people think...

Well, I must say, you are a rare bird. It's not often that you come across a newly graduated from high school conservative with a taste for Nine Inch Nails. Not that I am discouraging you from being graduated, or a conservative, or a NIN fan. I'm glad that there are still individuals in our country and world. I think popular and good often cross paths. Food is an obvious example. I love In and Out Burgers (especially animal style) and there is always a huge line at In and Out. All the time. That's my food for thought. Har, Har.

Foolish Man, yea I know, if you had read earlier posts I can put aside politics as long as it's good music, it may be nasty but NIN is damn good music. And yes I like being an individual.

Yeah, as I've said in my review of Finding Neverland, Johnny Depp is my favorite actor today. I'd see him in a movie that was about washing his dog. But his politics are probably very far from mine.
