Democrats said Thursday that White House adviser Karl Rove should either apologize or resign for accusing liberals of wanting "therapy and understanding" for the Sept. 11 attackers, escalating partisan rancor that threatens to consume Washington.
Rove's comments — and the response from the political opposition — mirrored earlier flaps over Democratic chairman Howard Dean's criticism of Republicans, a House Republican's statement that Democrats demonize Christians and Democratic Sen. Dick Durbin's comparison of the Guantanamo prison to Nazi camps and Soviet gulags.
Ok, so everyone lets get this straight. Dickhead Turbin should NOT have to resign or even apologize (according to some liberals) for his comments that are seditious (I'll post on that word later) but Karl Rove needs to resign for pointing out an ACCURATE TRUTH about liberals in this country. Wow once again lighten up people, my god you can't stand criticism at all, you are always right 100% of the time. I hope more people find this out. Liberalism is a Mental Disorder people, and for those non-believers I will continue to prove my case. Because those within the beltway speak often and are the worst cases, and fortunately the media picks up on it the majority of the time.

so obviously the fact that this speech is being played all over Al-Jizzera (yes I know how to actually spell it) as a recuiting tool. Paul, it doesn't matter what he MEANT to say, the fact that this jackass said something comparing us to mass murders means he is a top recruiting tool for Al-Quaida, not Bush. And when I said the media, I meant the media I follow not the MSM, I can't remember the last time I sat down and watched the NBC, CBS or ABC nightly news because they all suck. And I have read the speech, it doesn't matter. Espically when all of the dems said nothing, the silence was as loud as Turbin's speech. Moveon.org was the one who said we need therapy and understanding and god forbid a war. see web.archive.org/web/20021003154227/peace.moveon.org/peace.php3.
Moveon.org also didn't support the war in Afganistan for christ sake! Don't believe me see this
After 9/11, MoveOn.org Collected Signatures For A Statement Calling For “Justice, Not Escalating Violence That Would Only Play Into The Terrorists’ Hands.” “Joan Blades of Berkeley, a founder of MoveOn.org, an online network of liberal-leaning activists, said her group had collected 30,000 signatures since the attacks Sept. 11 on a statement calling for ‘justice, not escalating violence that would only play into the terrorists’ hands.’ ‘It’s a frightening thing to find out there are nations of people that think we’re evil,’ Blades said in a telephone interview. ‘We don’t want to support that imagery; we want to turn it around.’” (Tony Pugh, “Against Tide, They Clamor For Peace,” The Philadelphia Inquirer, September 21, 2001)
A MoveOn.org Petition Called On World Leaders To “Use Moderation And Restraint In Responding To” Terrorist Attacks. “We, the undersigned, citizens and residents of the United States of America and of countries around the world, appeal to the President of The United States, George W. Bush; to the NATO Secretary General, Lord Robertson; to the President of the European Commission, Romano Prodi; and to all leaders internationally to use moderation and restraint in responding to the recent terrorist attacks against the United States. We implore the powers that be to use, wherever possible, international judicial institutions and international human rights law to bring to justice those responsible for the attacks, rather than the instruments of war, violence or destruction.” (MoveOn.org Website, www.moveon.org/peace/petition/petition.html, Accessed December 17, 2003)
The Petition Stated That Governments Should Not Be “Held Unduly Accountable” For Actions Of Terrorist Groups Operating Within Their Borders. “Furthermore, we assert that the government of a nation must be presumed separate and distinct from any terrorist group that may operate within its borders, and therefore cannot be held unduly accountable for the latter’s crimes. It follows that the government of a particular nation should not be condemned for the recent attack without compelling evidence of its cooperation and complicity with those individuals who actually committed the crimes in question.” (MoveOn.org Website, www.moveon.org/peace/petition/petition.html, Accessed December 17, 2003)
Moveon Peace Campaign Founder Eli Pariser Circulated A Petition Calling For A “Peaceful Response To Break The Cycle Of Violence.” “The MoveOn Peace campaign was founded independently as ‘9-11Peace.org’ by Eli Pariser, a Maine native and recent graduate of Simon’s Rock College of Bard. In the days following September 11th, 2001, he launched an online petition calling for a peaceful response to break the cycle of violence, which was quickly signed by more than one hundred thousand people in the U.S. and almost half a million worldwide. Eli joined forces with MoveOn soon afterward, and is now our International Campaigns Director.” (MoveOn.org Website, www.moveon.org/about/, Accessed December 17, 2003)
and finally this was the moronic group that compared Bush to Hitler... see here...
Two Ads Comparing President Bush To Hitler Appeared On MoveOn.org’s Voter Fund Website. ”One ad begins with Adolf Hitler making speeches, until a picture of President Bush appears. Another also uses Nazi and Bush images, with the tag line: ‘What were war crimes in 1945 is foreign policy in 2003.’ The videos appeared on the Web site of MoveOn.org’s Voter Fund as part of a nationwide contest for an anti-Bush television ad on which the liberal group plans to spend a considerable sum.” (Howard Kurtz, “Anti-Bush Ad Contest Includes Hitler Images,” The Washington Post, January 6, 2004)
Paul, thanks to this I will now do a post on Moveon.org later this afternoon after I do some stuff.
very well paul, but the irony is that I don't get all my quotes that I see from extreme conservative sites, I also get them from exteremly liberal sites i.e. Daily Kos and Democratic Underground. They are the only ones nutty enough to think that this will help their cause. In response to #2, do you think that we would have won WWII if the liberals of today were around back then? We are at WAR and yes I believe in free speech but that is sedition! And its not because they could use it as a recruiting tool its because they ARE using it as a recruiting tool. So basically you are for speech so free that it could (will) get american troops killed overseas because of something idiotic a liberal said over here. Sorry, but I care more about protecting our troops overseas than protecting the speech of someone who practically committed treason on the US senate floor. Moveon.org is thorughly full of nutjobs and peace is good but not at the cost of american lives. They too are part of the blame america first crowd, if they hate america so much why not get out? Who is stopping them?
Ben, the liberals aren't flipping out. Rove made another daft 'with us or against us' comment that is utterly vacuous and typical of a very under qualified man.
These are difficult times for the Bush admin out in Iraq, desperate swipes at Dems to get the people behind them is sad but to be expected.
And Al-Jazeera is a fantastic news service and not a propoganda channel. That's mis-information if you think otherwise.
